About Us

Hilltop YMCA started to take shape when Chevron gave the West Contra Costa YMCA a gift of land in 1984. Six years later, the West Contra Costa YMCA merged with the YMCA of Alameda County to become the YMCA of the East Bay. In 1993, Hilltop YMCA opened it doors. They have been open ever since to members of the communities of Richmond, North Richmond, Hercules, Pinole, El Cerrito, San Pablo and El Sobrante.

We continue our close relationship with our sister branch, West Contra Costa, even sharing a board of managers. These close ties give us insight into community needs and we work hard to meet them. We also have a strong community partnership with the City of Pinole.
